Federal law lets only VA-accredited attorneys, claims agents, and Veterans Service Organizations charge to prepare a claim — and even they cannot charge for an initial claim.
The companies charging thousands aren't accredited. They avoid the rules by branding themselves as consultants. In 2025 a federal court found one of the largest was breaking the law by preparing and presenting claims for a fee without accreditation. State attorneys general have clawed back millions.

We don't generate nexus letters. Be careful with anyone who does.
A nexus letter is a medical opinion connecting your condition to your service. It carries weight only when a licensed provider who actually reviewed your case writes and signs it. Many tools now auto-generate these with AI. We think that's a mistake, and the data backs us up.
An analysis of nearly 300,000 Board of Veterans' Appeals decisions found that a medical opinion the Board rates as "not probative" performs worse than submitting nothing — because the Board's explicit rejection can strengthen the denial. A government review also found roughly a quarter of AI-extracted medical evidence contained errors.
So a slick AI nexus letter you paste in can actively hurt your claim. What helps is a real opinion from your own provider. We help you organize your history and prepare good questions to bring to that provider — we don't fake the medical opinion itself.
